Legendary Jamaican engineer Errol Thompson, died in 2004, shortly after completing the Hardtimes Riddim. This made the Hardtimes one of his final works which he happened to record with Stephen Gibson, son of the legendary Joe Gibbs. Hard Times goes to show that it’s not all about the relicks, and that “classic” roots riddims are still being born in the new millenium.
